Ru Spring for short, Huru Spring is situated to the north of Qingyuan Sky Lake, with the old name Kong Spring, and is the soul of the mountain. Fujian Annals records: “because of the Kong Spring, the mountain was called Spring Mountain, and the city was called Qingyuan (clear waters)”. Various inscriptions were left on the stones beside the spring, like “Huru (tiger’s breast milk)”, “Juanshi Shaoshui (curved stone scoops water)” and “Yuantou Huoshui (running water from the source)”. It is said that in ancient times, the baby tigers fed on the spring water as breast milk everyday and grew up healthily, thus it got its name.
